While I was sitting here, listening to the news and trying do decide what to make my first blog about, something grabbed my attention. I am unsure as to what it was, but it caused me to look at the television. That's when I saw it, in big, bold letters: How to fix America. I was speechless for a moment. They have this elderly man, with a British accent (which I thought was weird) telling people what needs to be done to fix America. He didn't touch the war, the politics, the crime, or even our jackass of a president. His solution was to spend money. No, I'm not joking. He claims that when our little rebate checks come to us this summer, we should spend every cent. He also wholeheartedly believed that this single act will repair our country.
*sniff**sniff*Anyone else smell that? I smell bullshit.
If you do not already know, we are in a recession. The American economy is so messed up because of President Dubbya and his war, that throwing tons of money into the system will do nothing. It is just a sweet little ploy for Dubbya to cover his ass until he leaves office. Once he leaves, and the money begins circulating, people will see what a minute impact it will have. How can each person spending four to six hundred dollars in one massive splurge repair the corruption that is gripping our country? Until someone can answer that question, my money will sit in the bank.
To fix this country, we need to start at the source: the leaders. In a country made up of mostly blue collared, hard working Americans, we get these guys. White collar trash, who never worked an honest day in their lives. Who never had to survive on Ramen noodles because they had no money, or had to live under a bridge. They all claim that they are here for the working man, that they are here to help. How can someone who knows NOTHING about you or your lifestyle expect to help? I recommend that we put one of our own in the oval office. Someone who will know what to do to help the lower to middle class. Remember: The only requirements to be president are that you have to have been born in this country, and at least 35 years of age. That's it. No Harvard degree or billions of dollars needed.
America DOES need to be repaired, but this "economy boost" is a slap in the face. Take care of the source, not symptoms.
Shame on you, America.
